Vintage Art Deco (1920s-1930s) amber Bakelite brooch. The brooch features bright pink diamante glass stones set into a brass mount set onto amber Bakelite. Bakelite was an early resin made from plastic, developed by Leo Baekeland in 1907. Bakelite became popular in the 1920s to 1940s, it was popular due to the variations of colours and its durability. Today Bakelite is a popular collector's item. This piece is in excellent vintage condition, measuring 7cm / 2.7" in length and 4.5cm / 1.7" in width.
